RITE Model

A growing concern amount planners and emergency responders is the limited ability to predict the effects of 3-Dimensional topography, chemical density, and wind fields on the air dispersion of chemical releases. In response, BHE Environmental has joined forces with WindLogics, Inc. (formerly SSESCO) and the Cincinnati Office of Environmental Management to develop 3-D modeling software to accurately simulate potential chemical releases.

The RITE (Release Integrating Terrain Effects) Model incorporates real-time meteorological data from weather stations with the following:
- Geographic Information System (GIS) data
- USGS topography maps
- Emergency response information from CAMEO
- Release rate and statistical data from ALOHA's user interface
- MINERVE Winfield Modeling
- Trames Dispersion Modeling

By incorporating data from these sources, this sophisticated computer model accurately predicts and map the airborne dispersion of chemicals.
